About the authors: Yiota Zagli and Athena Marini
When we visited Delphi a few years ago, we were fascinated by the aura of this beautiful place. It was there that we talked about the Delphic Oracle, and the precepts bequeathed to us from that time and we asked ourselves: How could this spiritual treasure be used and applied today? How could it be simplified and become better known today by Greek people and by foreign visitors to our country? How could it spread beyond this land? And how could this remarkable cultural heritage reemerge and be relevant today in our world?
The Delphic precepts remain unknown to many even in our country. But this is the legacy left to us by our ancient ancestors. The love for our ancient roots and our continuous efforts towards the upliftment of consciousness in our world, has prompted us to lay the foundations for this transfer of ancient wisdom from the ancient past to the present. Thus from a moment of creative inspiration, this "modern day oracle of Delphi" has emerged! Yiota in Greek and Athena in English “embody" the diachronic "Pythia" who interprets with playful commentary the ancient Delphic precepts or maxims as they are often called.
With the completion of this project, the ancients maxims can become a point of inspiration and deepening; a tool for personal development and self-awareness, an interactive game for each person or group.
